On February 17 th Lala Ramazanova, PhD at Departmet of Chemistry at SU, moderated a SUCCeSS Lunch webinar on the topic of Unlocking Lignin for Circular Biofuels: From Forest Residues to Fuel-Grade Hydrocarbons .

SUCCeSS Board member Joseph Samec is now part of the advisory board of the Chem Circularity journal - composed of prestigious, international, and multidisciplinary scientists.

Watch the recorded half-day SRC-SUCCeSS joint workshop on how AI was applied in sustainability research. The hybrid workshop brought together experts from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC), SUCCeSS, The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA), and Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI).

Trained in phosphorus chemistry , Audrey Moores, approaches chemistry as a field that must continuously expand. She’s now a leading voice in green chemistry and has built a career at the intersection of catalysis, sustainability, mechanochemistry and education. What defines Moores’ work is not only what she studies, but how she insists chemistry must evolve: by facing complexity instead of ignoring it.
2025 was a milestone year for SUCCeSS, marked by strong international visibility and strategic development. The centre’s flagship achievement was hosting the Nobel Symposium Chemistry for Sustainability: Fundamental Advances in May.

To promote continued focus on the Stockholm Declaration, SUCCeSS have launched a new interview series featuring researchers who have signed the declaration and are helping shape its impact.
Berit Olofsson was invited to the engineering chemistry school CPE Lyon to present SUCCeSS and the Stockholm Declaration on Chemistry for the Future in November 2025. She was hosted by Alessandra Quadrelli at CNRS, IRCELYON, and Emilie Brulé and Jérémy Breuzard at CPE Lyon.

Alessandra Quadrelli is not just a chemist – she is a philosopher in the world of laboratories. Trained in organometallic chemistry, she has gradually moved into materials science, catalysis, and, most notably, green chemistry, always with a keen eye on how research impacts the world. What distinguishes Quadrelli is her ability to combine rigorous experimental methods with thoughtful reflection on the role of science in society.
