Entry requirements
We recommend that you first check whether you meet the entry requirements for the course you are interested in. You must fulfil the prerequisite requirements that we assess as necessary for you to be able to successfully complete the course. Certain prerequisite requirements may also apply in order to progress to a new semester within a longer programme.
The entry requirements for each course are specified in the course syllabus. On the course pages in the Education Catalogue, you can also find the entry requirements for courses that are open for application.

Exemption from entry requirements
If there are special grounds, an exemption from the prerequisite requirements within an education may be granted by the Director of Studies. Exemptions from entry requirements are granted solely on the basis of the applicant’s ability to successfully complete the course, despite not fulfilling the formal requirements stipulated in the course syllabus.
Within degree programmes, particular consideration is given to whether the student can be considered capable of completing any required supplementary studies in parallel with their ongoing studies.
Applications for exemption from entry requirements must be submitted using a designated form and must be received by the department no later than three weeks prior to the start of the course or semester. Applications submitted after this deadline will be processed subject to availability. Decisions are normally communicated approximately one week before the start of the course or semester.
