Archive your degree project in DiVA

Your thesis is archived in two ways:

• digitally in the archives of the Department of Psychology, and
• preferably also in DiVA – the Digital Scientific Archive.

Digital archiving at the Department of Psychology

Your degree project is archived by the Department of Psychology. You must submit the final version in Canvas for plagiarism checking. After the examiner has reported the grade, the thesis is retrieved from there and archived.

Digital archiving in DiVA

Since the autumn semester of 2005, approved degree projects should normally also be archived in DiVA (Digital Scientific Archive). If, for any reason, you do not wish to publish your thesis as full text (for example, due to planned publication in a scientific journal), you should at least register information about the thesis, known as metadata.

To be able to register your thesis in DiVA, you must have an active university account (so do not wait too long).

Create a PDF of your thesis

To upload the approved final version of your thesis to DiVA as full text, you must first create a PDF version of the thesis.

In DiVA, it may appear possible to upload several files (for example, if you have appendices or tables as separate files). However, it is strongly recommended that you combine everything into one single document before creating the PDF. A cover page is fine but not required for the DiVA version.

Remember to review the PDF carefully and ensure that page breaks, tables, figures and similar elements appear correctly.

Register your thesis in DiVA

You are now ready to register your thesis in DiVA.

Go to su.diva-portal.org/login and log in using your university account.

Instructions and help can be found by clicking the red question‑mark icon (“?”).

Some fields allow formatting such as bold, italics, superscript and subscript. Not all fields are mandatory, so if you are unsure, you can usually leave them blank. If you encounter the field “National subject category” you can select Social Sciences => Psychology.

What happens next?

If everything went smoothly — well done! However, you will not be able to see your submission immediately. The Study Administration Office must first review and approve the registration for publication before it becomes publicly available in DiVA.
