On 2 October, researchers, facility staff and imaging experts from Stockholm University and beyond gathered in Vivi Täckholmsalen for the 4th SU Imaging Day. This year's programme focused on correlative multimodal imaging and on how image analysis, machine learning and AI are changing the way imaging data is used in research.

Join us for the 4th SU Imaging Day on October 2nd! This year's symposium brings together researchers and imaging experts from across Stockholm University and beyond to explore correlative multimodal imaging and AI in imaging research, with invited talks, panel discussions, and facility tours. All are welcome!

Three projects have received time grants from the Stockholm University Brain Imaging Center (SUBIC). SUBIC congratulates the researchers and encourages other Stockholm University researchers to apply for the next grant in autumn.

Gláucia Laís Salomão has been awarded the 2026 Hamdan International Presenter Award by The Voice Foundation in the United States — one of the most distinguished honours in international voice research.

Stockholm University researchers are welcome to apply for SUBIC time grant Stockholm University Brain Imaging Centre (SUBIC) is announcing a new call for the semiannual funding opportunity with the purpose to allow increased access to the various method platforms that SUBIC offers. Applicants can apply for access to all equipment. List of SUBIC equipment What is the purpose of the funding? The general purpose of this funding mechanism is to allow users at Stockholm University to either collect pilot data for future grant applications or to collect data for their first complete study on the instrument mentioned in the application to promote use among groups not normally accustomed to the instrument. Projects will be assessed by an expert committee based on the criteria outlined below. Proposals receiving good ratings will be awarded with free time on SUBICs instruments and/or free support according to specification. Applications will be assessed by a committee consisting of SUBIC staff and researchers tied to SUBIC. Projects will be assessed based on their scientific value as well as prior experience and existing funding of the applying research group. Priority will be given to projects with perceived high scientific value as well as to groups with no-to-limited experience with the instrument in question, no history of previously awarded in-house funding, no external funding for the project in question, and the estimated potential of the project in question to lead to externally funded future projects (criteria listed in no specific order). When will the decision be announced? The decision of the grant award will be announced no later than June 19th . When is the start of the grant period, and how long is the grant awarded? The SVT Play series The Dementia Choir highlights how choir singing can promote social interaction, stimulate memory, and support quality of life for people living with dementia. Research conducted at the Stockholm University Brain Imaging Centre (SUBIC) contributes scientific insight into how music influences brain activity and cognitive ageing.

Lázló Harmat is featured in another intervied with Svenska Dagblandet about their study on Choir Singing and aging. The data collection was largely done at SUBIC.

Choral singing slows down aging and strengthens certain cognitive abilities in older adults, according to research conducted at SUBIC. SVT has visited SUBIC and interviewed László Harmat, who has researched how choral singing affects aging.
