I teach primarily courses related to Spanish grammar, beginner's Spanish, academic writing, and phonetics. I have experience teaching at all levels (bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels) and have also taught courses in historical linguistics and sociolinguistics.

I am a quantitative corpus linguist. My research centers primarily on linguistic variation and change, with a particular focus on morphosyntactic and semantic change. I approach these questions from a usage-based, cognitive, and construction-grammatical (CxG) perspective. I mainly draw on corpus-linguistic methods to understand the emergence and diffusion of language change, as well as the cognitive underpinnings of variation and change. My primary focus is on phenomena of variation and change across varieties of Spanish, but I also conduct research on other languages (English, Portuguese, and Swedish, among others). Within these languages, my studies span a broad range of interests, including possessive pronouns, definite articles, relative clauses and relative pronouns, mood variation, constructional reduction/expansion, and syntactic length variation, as well as the social factors underlying neurocognitive routines. I am particularly interested in using statistical models (primarily Bayesian ones) to analyze linguistic variation and change. In recent years, I have also been researching how large language models (LLMs) can assist in corpus-linguistic research projects.
