Degree project abroad

If you are interested in conducting a field study in a low-or middle income country related to the Swedish development cooperation, you can apply for Minor Field Studies (MFS). This is a scholarship programme aimed at bachelor’s or master’s level students.

For many students, there is also an opportunity to write your thesis or collect data abroad, and we recommend you to contact the internatinal coordinator at your department for information regarding your possibilities. Find relevant information below.

Field studies through Minor Field Studies (MFS)

Minor Field Studies (MFS) is a Sida-funded scholarship programme for undergraduate and advanced-level students who want to gain fieldwork experience and contribute to knowledge sharing on international cooperation by conducting field studies in countries where Sweden has strategies for development cooperation.
