At the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI), media enquiries can be handled during office hours. Are you a journalist looking for an expert on a specific topic? Your chances of finding a researcher who can participate in media interviews are greater if you contact us well in advance.

Finding the right researcher

At SOFI, we have a number of leading researchers working in areas such as social policy, welfare, inequality, health and the labour market. Many of them regularly contribute to public debate and appear in the media.

If you know the name of the researcher you are looking for, you can find contact details for all staff at SOFI on our contact page.

Research news

Research with particular relevance for the public and policymakers is highlighted through articles on our website. Stockholm University also distributes press releases through the service MyNewsDesk, and research from SOFI is often included in these releases.

Social media

The Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI) is present on LinkedIn and Bluesky. On these platforms we share research news, announce seminars and highlight new research projects at the institute. Posts are published in both Swedish and English.

Expertsvar

SOFI participates in the Swedish Research Council’s service Expertsvar. Through this network of research communicators, journalists can receive help in finding a suitable researcher and information on how to contact them.

Expertsvar is run by the Swedish Research Council in close cooperation with all universities and most university colleges in Sweden, as well as a number of research institutes and other research funders.
