Economic interdependencies, geopolitical tensions, complex global value-chains, long-term environment consequences, and negative implications for local communities, all characterize these challenges. This roundtable, co-organized by the Stockholm Center on Global Governance (SCGG) at Stockholm University and the MISTRA Mineral Governance research consortium, brings together leading scholars and practitioners to examine these challenges and their policy implications.

Together, we will explore pressing questions such as: what are the main risks and goal conflicts associated with critical mineral governance from a Swedish perspective? What policy responses are currently underway to mitigate risks and manage goal conflicts? How are Swedish policymakers and stakeholders working at different governance levels – from local, national to international - to address key governance challenges associated with critical minerals? What are the prospects from enhancing regional and international cooperation on critical mineral governance?
