How do flexible working arrangements and forms of employment affect workers’ well-being? What impact do work-related stressors have on biological ageing? And how can we study and improve labour market matching? These and many other questions were discussed at this year’s RewhardNet conference.

New perspectives on the labour market and working life

RewhardNet is an annual conference that brings together researchers and experts to discuss current research on key societal issues. The third edition was held on 7 and 8 September and focused on the future of the labour market.

Researchers from the University of Gävle, University College London, Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University presented current research on the labour market and working life. The presentations covered topics such as flexible working arrangements, factors influencing biological ageing and a sustainable working life.

Experts from public agencies also participated in the conference and contributed new perspectives. Statistics Sweden presented the Register for Education, Matching and the Labour Market (RUMA), which enables analyses of skills supply, labour demand and labour market matching. The Swedish Public Employment Service described how its Analysis Department uses randomised studies to develop and improve the agency’s work.

Participants also had the opportunity to present their research in a poster session and network with colleagues working in survey- and register-based research. This year’s conference brought together participants from 14 universities and public agencies.

Will be held again next year
