The Board

The Institute for Interpreting and Translation Studies (TÖI) is an institute at Stockholm University and therefore has its own board. TÖI is also represented on the Board at the Department for Swedish Language and Multilingualism (Svefler).

The configuration, form of work, and duties of the TÖI Board, are laid down in the TÖI statutes decided by the Vice-chancellor of Stockholm University . The board shall, among other things, promote the activities at the institute, make strategic decisions about the content and development of activities, decide on budget and annual report and determine the plan of activities and the annual report.

The members of the TÖI Board are appointed by the Vice-chancellor after consulting the Head of Department, the Dean of Faculty of Humanities and the Vice-chancellor for the Area of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The term of office of the Board follows the term of office of the department boards at the Faculty of Humanities. The current board's term of office is 2024–2026.

Board Members

The Board of the Institute for Interpreting and Translation Studies (TÖI) must be composed of

the Director (self-signed member)
the Deputy Director (self-signed member)
scientifically competent members (doctorate or equivalent) who represent the research through one teacher / researcher from the field of interpreting and one from the field of translation, one to three from another relevant field of education and research within Stockholm University, or other interpreting and translation training at another college or university within or outside Sweden, and a member may also be included who represents an external organization or authority that is relevant tos area of activity of the Institute.

In addition, one or two student representatives have the right to be part of the Board.
