Meet Medeea, one of our digital ambassadors

- I am Medeea, a 21-year-old student from Romania. I focused on mathematics and informatics in high school. Now I study Physics on a bachelor level and I'm in a traineeship with the ATLAS Group CERN in Romania. I live in Sweden as an exchange student at Stockholm University and I'm looking forward to making Physics and Fysikum more visible by using modern, dynamic digital tools.

Tell us about your background - where do you come from?

"I am Medeea, a 21-year-old student from Romania. My academic journey began in high school, where I focused on mathematics and informatics. Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Physics Informatics. While I am not employed at the moment, I am gaining valuable hands-on experience through a traineeship with the ATLAS Group CERN in Romania. Additionally, I am currently living in Sweden as an exchange student at Stockholm University."

How did you become interested in physics?

"My passion for physics started at home, where I used to do playful scientific experiments with my father. Over time, that initial curiosity evolved into a deep drive to understand the world. The more I learned, the more questions kept coming, and I simply found myself wanting to discover the answers."

What are you doing at the moment?

"Right now, I am focusing on my exchange studies at Stockholm University. I am also actively looking for a Bachelor's thesis subject, as I will graduate in June 2027. I plan to write my thesis based on the research and work I am currently doing during my traineeship with the ATLAS Group."

What are your plans for the future?

"My primary goal is to be accepted into a Master’s programme in Physics at Stockholm University, followed by a PhD, so I can become even more involved in the ATLAS experiment. Alongside my scientific career, it is very important to me to nurture my creative side. I plan to continue taking acting lessons and engaging in creative projects."

What will be your vision for your role as Fysikum’s social media ambassador?

"As a social media ambassador, my vision is to make Fysikum more visible to the public by using modern, dynamic digital tools. I want to focus on video content, as short-form videos are highly engaging, alongside interactive posts that encourage community participation. Physics deserves broader exposure, and I want to use Fysikum's platforms to show that this field is exciting, accessible, and open to anyone with a passion for learning."
