GREENCARB Expedition!

IGV is proud to be part of this project, both onboard and onshore, with Camille Akhoudas, christian stranne, Christoph Böttner, Flor Vermassen, Helen Coxall, Robyn Granger and Yvonne Yu Yan Yau contributing to the expedition.

We’re excited to see the GREENCARB expedition heading out to the fjords of southeast Greenland to investigate a fascinating question: What happens to carbon when glaciers retreat?

As Greenland’s glaciers melt and retreat, carbon is transported through the fjord systems. GREENCARB aims to better understand the fate of this carbon and what these changes mean for the Arctic carbon cycle.
