The PhD project will focus on analysing selection on pollen associated with evolutionary shifts from insect to wind pollination. The work will combine large-scale genomic analyses in an evolutionary framework with population genomic and transcriptomic analyses in suitable plant systems.
The project is led by Professor Tanja Slotte and carried out in close collaboration with Professor John Fitzpatrick, Professor Catarina Rydin and Dr Allison Hsiang at Stockholm University. It is funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.
The position comprises four years of full-time doctoral studies at DEEP at Stockholm University’s Frescati campus.
