The PhD project will focus on how large-scale wetland restoration measures affect the abundance and diversity of insects and spiders, as well as underlying mechanisms such as oxygen deficiency in wet soils. The PhD student will also collaborate with researchers in ecology, hydrology and biogeochemistry to explore links between biodiversity responses and changes in ecosystem processes.

The project, BALANCE wetlands – Bridging Actions for Lowering Atmospheric carbon emissions and Nurturing Conservation Efforts in Wetlands, investigates how different objectives can be balanced in wetland restoration.

The position is a four-year, full-time PhD studentship based at DEEP at Stockholm University's Frescati campus.

Apply by 31 October
