Carl is our new study administrator at BIG

BIG has welcomed a new colleague! Carl Olsson has recently joined the department as a Study Administrator and will be working with course administration, results reporting and scheduling, among other things. With experience from both the service sector and sustainability work, he looks forward to contributing with good service and a calm, approachable manner in everyday work.

Carl Olsson, the new Study Administrator at BIG, enjoys canoeing in his spare time.

Carl will mainly be working with course and results administration as well as scheduling. In addition, he is looking forward to helping out with both the small and large tasks that arise in the department’s day-to-day activities.

He holds a degree in Agricultural Science from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, specialising in rural development and natural resource management. His interest in the relationship between people and nature has been a common thread throughout both his studies and professional life. Most recently, Carl worked as a Programme Officer at SwedBio at the Stockholm Resilience Centre. SwedBio is an international development programme that works to promote the sustainable and equitable management of biodiversity through collaboration between local initiatives, research, policy, and diverse knowledge systems.

From his previous roles, he particularly brings experience in service and problem-solving. He has worked for many years in the service industry and values meeting people and being able to help with both major and minor matters.

– I appreciate, and hope to contribute to, BIG’s ambition to always provide good service to everyone we work with, says Carl.

How would his former colleagues describe him? Hopefully, they would say that he is cheerful, curious and calm.

Outside of work, Carl enjoys spending time in nature. This can involve anything from peaceful walks in a park to cross-country skiing in the mountains and canoeing. He is also a keen supporter of Malmö FF and has a broad interest in music, ranging from hardcore, grunge and punk to hip hop.

We warmly welcome Carl to BIG!
