Astronomy Day and Night 2026
Everyone interested in astronomy, young or old, is welcome to the Astronomy night and day (ADON) event on Saturday 19th of September. For more than ten years ADON has been celebrated in Sweden and scientists from the Department of Astronomy at Stockholm University have participated every time. As usual we collaborate with the House of Science (Vetenskapens hus) to make this happen. The event is free of charge.

During the Astronomy Day and Night event on Saturday 19th of September a large number of astronomy themed events happen all over Sweden. In Stockholm the House of Science (Vetenskapen hus) is the main organizer of the event and hosts an open house at Ruddammen and AlbaNova university centre on the Saturday. The Department of Astronomy contributes with lecture speakers and a telescope show.
