Courses and programmes

In the bachelor's programme (only offered in Swedish), you lay the foundation for further studies in biology. The education is three years and gives you thorough knowledge in the subject. Depending on the program and specialization, you begin the program with chemistry studies followed by basic courses in biology. Then you deepen and broaden yourself before you do your final independent work.

To immerse yourself in biology, we offer ten master's programs that specialize in different parts of the subject. The education is two years and after completing your studies you will receive a master's degree. All programs include independent project carried out within an ongoing research project at the university or at an external workplace.

PhD-studies, or a doctoral education, is the highest level you can study at university. A completed doctoral education leads to a doctoral degree, so called PhD. As a doctoral student, you are trained in problem solving, critical thinking, and using the scientific method. You will also learn to both work independently and to collaborate with other researchers.

Through our internship courses, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your biological expertise in real-world settings, within research, government agencies, or organizations where biology takes center stage. The internship provides valuable experience, strengthens your professional profile, and helps you build connections for the future.
