Research subject Astroparticle and Elementary Particle Physics

The division for astroparticle and elementary particle physics conducts research within large international experiments, in order to deepen our understanding of the universe and its fundamental constituents.

Through our research, we study the universe, its fundamental constituents, and the laws of nature governing their interactions. Our activities are centered around large international experiments, such as the IceCube neutrino telescope at the South Pole, the ATLAS experiment at CERN and the proposed FINESSE beamline and NNBAR experiment at the ESS in Lund. We design, build and operate these experiments, as well as use the collected data to study the universe and its different elementary particles.
