Research group Matteo Costantini group

Development of methodologies for organic synthesis based on electronically unsaturated main-group elements.

The group aims at developing synthetic strategies towards complex organic molecules through single-electron logic. Our interdisciplinary research efforts focus on engineering main-group reagents and catalysts capable of selective interactions with functionalities traditionally considered inert. These methods are centered on the use of sustainable technologies (e.g., electrochemistry, photochemistry) and find immediate applications in medicinal chemistry, materials science, and catalysis. We also aim at understanding the underlying mechanistic manifolds that govern the transformations developed within our group.
