About me
My research project as doctoral students focuses on participants in the general courses offered by Swedish folk high schools, where adults study in an alternative education environmant towards learning outcomes equivalent to those of compulsory and upper secondary education. I am particularly interested in how participants perceive their encounters with this educational setting and its pedagogical practices, as well as in the factors that constitute, enable, or hinder the achievement of the programme's educational goals.
The doctoral studies were initiated within a national research school for teachers in Swedish folk high schools, hosted by the University of Gothenburg. As part of these studies, a licentiate thesis was defended in January 2026. The following publications have emerged from the doctoral studies conducted at the University of Gothenburg:
