My main research interests are questions of poetics, ontology, and representation in Polish and transnational modernism. My dissertation, Beyond Pure and Impure Form: Form, Language, and Posthumanity in S. I. Witkiewicz’s The Shoemakers, reinterprets Witkiewicz’s poetics through Maurice Blanchot’s idea of unworking and, focusing on the Witkiewicz’s final play, recontextualizes the author’s catastrophism from a posthumanist perspective in conversation with martin Heidegger and Giorgio Agamben. I also have an interest in Ashkenazic modernism and Polish-Jewish conversations and negotiations. I have previously taught at, among others, The University of Chicago and the Jagiellonian University.
