About the exhibitions
OUT OF CHARACTER
Linnéa Sjöberg
Curator: Richard Julin
Linnéa Sjöberg's exhibition highlights several aspects of Sjöberg’s wide-ranging practice which spans performance, installations, textile works and moving image. Sjöberg's artistry reflects a desire to compress the elements of life: experiences, emotions, objects – even individuals. Life and art are literally woven together in her work, with the materiality bearing traces of labour, transformation, and time.
I din röst bor anden till ett språk [In your voice dwells the spirit of a language]
Olof Marsja
Curator: Therese Kellner
Olof Marsja brings together collective and personal history in sculptures and installations. In his merging of Sámi and Swedish elements, stories of identity, place, cultural heritage and history emerge, characterised by both sincerity and humour. In Marsja's speculative family tree, the materials, the knowledge of the hand, the spoken language, the land, the mountains and the river all hold equal significance.
About Accelerator’s programme 2026
Accelerator’s programme in 2026 is based on knowledge hierarchies as an underlying theme. Knowledge can be understood in many ways, such as facts, practical skills, experience or awareness of the world. How knowledge is developed and valued depends on context, time, place and the dominating perspectives. Throughout history, knowledge hierarchies have developed based on a hegemonic world order where geopolitical power is linked to power over knowledge. Western empirical and analytical knowledge has come to dominate. Accelerator's exhibitions in 2026 highlight knowledge traditions that challenge these hierarchies. Here, art is presented as a distinct form of knowledge, and the focus is on material knowledge and experiential, lived and tacit knowledge, in which indigenous knowledge traditions play a central role. Both the exhibitions and Accelerator's public programme open up new ways of understanding and valuing knowledge beyond established hierarchies.
