north2north - student exchange with a scholarship

north2north is a network within the University of the Arctic, where universities and colleges around the Arctic Circle cooperate.

This page will be updated once Stockholm University opens a new application round for north2north. At present, it has not yet been confirmed whether an application call will take place in 2026. However, Stockholm University remains committed to participating in the north2north programme and aims to offer new mobility opportunities as soon as possible.

What is north2north?

The north2north network provide students with study abroad opportunities and a north2north scholarship through the Swedish Institute, allowing students to study for one or two semesters at partner universities across North America (United States and Canada), the Nordics (Iceland, Finland, Norway), as well as in Australia, France and the United Kingdom.

When there is a call for application, all students at Stockholm University, regardless of subject, can apply to north2north. However, students who study courses with emphasis on the Northern and Arctic regions are prioritised.
