Scholarship for PhD mobility at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland, 2027-28

The scholarships are financed by the Birgitta and Wawrzyniec Weclewicz fund, with the aim to promote collaboration within research and studies between Adam Mickiewicz University and Stockholm University.

The deadline to apply is 1 March 2027, 23:59.

About the scholarship

This year, two scholarships are available for doctoral students currently studying at Stockholm University. The base amount is 65 000 SEK for one semester (20 weeks), but shorter or longer stays are also possible; the scholarship amount will be adjusted accordingly. An additional 4 000 SEK may be granted for green travel to Poland (carpooling or train).

About the mobility

Mobility periods can be arranged for one or two semesters, with shorter stays also possible. While the primary purpose of the mobility is to support doctoral research, students may also be able to participate in relevant courses and seminars. If you do not already have a contact person at AMU, the university can help connect you with a suitable supervisor once you have been admitted.

Studies can be conducted in English or Polish. Only subject areas available at AMU are eligible for your application; see list on the link below:

Application

In order to apply, you must be currently enrolled as a doctoral student at Stockholm University. The application consists of two steps:

1. Log in to the application form via the button below and fill in your personal information

2. Attach the following documents to your application:

• A suggested study plan, where you also present the relevance of mobility to AMU for your doctoral project;
• A summary of your study qualifications (CV) and, and if existing, information about contact person at AMU;
• A certificate of registration for the current semester from Ladok;
• A copy of your most recent Transcript of Records from Ladok.

If there is strong competition, academic achievements may also be considered as part of the assessment. Basic knowledge of Polish is not a requirement but can also be considered a merit should there be strong competition between applicants.

The decision about the scholarship distribution is taken by Student Services at Stockholm University in consultation with AMU.
