Issues with email delivery from external senders to Microsoft addresses
There are currently issues with email delivery from certain external senders to Microsoft addresses. As a result, emails do not always reach students who have redirected their student email accounts, and IT Services is working to resolve the problem.
Emails from domains other than su.se do not always reach students who have redirected their student email address to a personal email account with one of Microsoft’s mail services (Hotmail, Outlook, MSN and Live).
The issue is caused by Microsoft having changed a setting in their systems, which means that emails from certain external senders are not delivered. This applies to services that, according to Microsoft’s interpretation, send bulk mailings.
Unfortunately, this may affect services such as Athena or various newsletters that are sent from addresses other than @su.se.
Emails from some services are delivered, but not all, and this depends on the service itself rather than when the email was sent.
If you believe you are affected, please report the issue to IT Support via Serviceportalen
Include examples of emails that you believe you should have received, as well as the time and sender where possible.
IT Services is working to find a solution to the problem. A way to get around the problem is to activate your student email in Office 365. However, this means that all emails sent to your @student.su.se address will be delivered to Office 365 instead of the email address you previously redirected your student email to. You will therefore need to check that mailbox to avoid missing important information from the university.
