The course EU Banking and Financial Law is given within the framework of the one-year master programme in European Economic Law at the Department of Law, Stockholm University.

This is the second course in the Master Programme in European Economic Law. It is one of the elective courses of the programme. The course focuses on EU banking and financial law.
The overarching aim of the course is to provide advanced knowledge and skills within the areas of law relating to the free movement of capital and cross-border financing. It addresses financial market actors, supervision, markets and transactions, with particular emphasis on the credit market. Subject matters include EU law, financial regulation, and cross-border issues in contract law, property law, insolvency law, and company law. The course adopts a critical approach throughout.

Teaching Format
Instruction consists of seminars and a project assignment (thesis).
Assessment
Examination consists of active participation in seminars, written tests covering the elements taught during the lecture period, and assessment and grading of the thesis, including presentation and opposition.
