Geography II
Would you like to work with important issues such as societal vulnerability, environmental protection, and sustainable development?
In the course Geography II, you will develop and deepen your geographical knowledge by using various geographical methods and sources to analyse current societal issues. The focus is on application — for example, how geographical theory and methodology can be used for geographic analysis related to planning, development, and conflicts on local, regional, and global scales. This includes, for instance, transboundary environmental problems, resource use and resource conflicts, as well as the impact of globalization on the physical environment and human living conditions. The course also covers basic research methodology, including formal requirements for scientific writing, which is practiced through an independent project. Excursions and fieldwork are part of the instruction and aim to concretize and apply theoretical sections.
The course is a compulsory part of the Bachelor's Programme in Geography, but it can also be taken as an independent course. The course is offered by the Department of Physical Geography in collaboration with the Department of Human Geography.
This course is given in Swedish only. More information about this course can be found on the Swedish course page.
