We are pleased to announce that a video recording of the Seventh Hilding Eek Memorial Lecture, hosted by the Stockholm Centre for International Law and Justice, is now available.

In this lecture, Professor Dapo Akande explores “The International Court of Justice and the Protection of Human Rights”, offering insights into the Court’s evolving role in the international human rights landscape. The event was opened by Jane Reichel, Vice President of Stockholm University.

Professor Akande is Chichele Professor of Public International Law at the University of Oxford and a member of the United Nations International Law Commission. He has extensive experience as adviser, counsel, and expert before international courts and tribunals, including the International Court of Justice, and is the United Kingdom’s candidate for election to the ICJ in 2026.
