Recap of the CIRDIM Workshop on Circularity and Digitalization

We had a truly inspiring workshop on April 16, bringing together researchers, managers, and marketing professionals actively engaged in marketing in the circular economy and digitalization era.

During the workshop, we explored an ecosystem perspective on marketing within organizations, spanning from the design and development stage to managing products throughout their lifecycle. We discussed how AI is transforming marketing by enhancing transparency and traceability, particularly in enabling more effective recycling systems.

We also discussed B2B relationships and how digitalization has reshaped interactions, while the core element of personal trust remains unchanged. In addition, we reviewed experiments with AI-generated images in advertising, demonstrating how similar prompts can produce different outcomes across different LLMs.

At the same time, important challenges remain. Consumer overconsumption and behavioral patterns, trust, environmental measurement, regulations and scalability continue to hinder a full transition toward a circular economy.
