Canvas replaces Athena as the new learning platform in Autumn 2026

Canvas is designed to be easy for students to use – course rooms, course materials, schedules, and submissions are all gathered in one place. You log in with your University account and will find your courses in the new environment when the term begins.

For you as a student, this means that you will start using Canvas from Autumn 2026. The learning platform is already in use at more than 30 Swedish universities and higher education institutions.

After you have registered for your autumn courses in Ladok, you can log in to Canvas using your university account and find your courses. You can access your course homepage by going to the Courses section.

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Canvas.

The current learning platform, Athena, will be phased out during 2026, and Canvas will fully replace it by the next term. Courses that start in Spring 2026 and continue into the autumn may continue to use Athena until they are completed (programmes are excluded).
