Konrad Burchardi appointed to the Board of Directors of REStud
IIES Professor Konrad Burchardi has joined the Board of Directors of The Review of Economic Studies starting in January.

The Review of Economics Studies (REStud) is one of the leading scientific journals in economics. The editorial policies and team are managed by the Board of Directors, a small group of European economists.
Burchardi’s appointment follows several recent professional achievements. In late 2025, he was awarded the Assar Lindbeck Medal, a biennial honor recognizing an outstanding Swedish-based economist under 45. This followed his promotion to Full Professor at IIES in 2024 and the receipt of an ERC Consolidator Grant for his research on agricultural productivity in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Before joining the Board of Directors, Burchardi served on the Editorial Board, a group that traditionally includes many of the leading young research economists in Europe. Currently IIES faculty members Timo Boppart, Kurt Mitman and Arash Nekoei also serve on the Editorial Board of REStud. Kurt Mitman additionally served as Managing Editor of REStud from 2017 until 2025.
