Celebrating the Month of the Portuguese Language
Throughout May, a series of cultural events are taking place in Stockholm to celebrate the Month of the Portuguese Language. This initiative is a collaboration between the Camões Institute, Stockholm University, and the Embassies of Angola, Brazil, Mozambique, and Portugal, along with the Honorary Consulate of Cape Verde.

One of the highlights was the celebration of the Dia Mundial da Língua Portuguesa (World Portuguese Language Day) on May 5 at the Stockholm University Library, which brought together nearly 100 participants. The program featured a roundtable discussion on Portuguese as a pluricentric language, live musical performances, and a tasting of traditional dishes from Portuguese-speaking countries.
Additional activities will continue throughout the rest of the month, including storytelling sessions for children, a seminar marking 50 years of independence of Angola, Cape Verde, and Mozambique, and Portuguese-language film screenings.
Join us in this inspiring celebration of language, literature, and culture!
