Find the Section for Cinema Studies | The Film House

The offices of the Section for Cinema Studies are situated in The Film House, based at Borgvägen 1-5 at the edge of the Gärdet plain. This is where you will be studying, teaching or conducting research in Cinema Studies.

Construction work in Filmhuset

Construction work taking place between weeks 35 and 36 is partially affecting accessibility for students in Filmhuset.

Due to work on the building's ventilation system, access to student areas and the administrative office on Level 6 is currently limited.

This means, for example, that bringing in and heating up food is somewhat more inconvenient than usual.

Microwaves and fridges open on floor 6

Students can use the microwaves and fridges, but as long as the furniture is not in place you may eat on floor 4

We will keep the affected students updated on the progress of the work.

In The Film House, run by the Swedish Film Institute, you will find lecture halls, seminar rooms, Sweden's only special library for film literature and the movie theatres. A totally unique environment for learning and research. 

4th Floor - the ground floor

The 4th Floor houses the movie theatres, the library for film literature, and restaurant. The movie theatres are used for lectures and screenings.

About The Film House

5th Floor (uppgång B) 

At the 5th Floor (uppgång B) you will find the lecture hall F-salen and seminar rooms Sem-1 and Sem 2. You can easily get here if you just take the stairs on the right hand side of the library. 

You will need a code to get in here.

6th Floor (uppgång B)

The 6th Floor (uppgång B) houses the Student Affairs Offices, the Student Counsellors, as well as our researchers and teachers. There is a student area here as well, fully equipped with refrigerator, freezer, micro wave ovens, and study spaces.
