The Swedish Mathematical Colloquium is founded
On May 29, the Swedish Mathematical Colloquium was launched, an initiative that was born in the wake of Professor Pavel Kurasov's lecture at the British Mathematical Colloquium.

Professor with the Department of Mathematics, Pavel Kurasov, is one of the founders of the Swedish Mathematical Colloquium.
The association's annual meeting coincided with the first colloquium. The aim of the Swedish Mathematical Colloquium is to create a context for knowledge exchange in the country. It aims to build bridges between research areas and to create a platform that maintains the same high level as we see internationally. At the same time, the founder’s plan is that all lectures will be at colloquium level, that is, they will be adapted for master's students.
Among the keynote speakers at the British Mathematical Colloquium (BMC) in April was Pavel Kurasov, professor at the Department of Mathematics at Stockholm University. He gave a lecture on a new type of aperiodic crystals. Pavel got the idea to start the Swedish Mathematical Colloquium in connection with this.
