Now Available in Chinese: PISA over 15 years – Results and Trends
The comprehensive study on Sweden’s PISA results has been officially expanded and translated into Chinese. This new edition bridges Swedish educational research with a global audience, capturing widespread international interest in the Nordic school system.

What’s New in this Edition?
The project faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this allowed the authors to significantly enrich the content. The newly released Chinese edition includes five brand new chapters that are not available in the original Swedish version:
- System Insights: Three chapters providing a thorough overview of the Swedish education system.
- Fresh Data: Two chapters presenting and discussing Sweden’s latest results from the PISA 2018 and PISA 2022 assessments.
The Story Behind the Translation
The original book, “PISA under 15 år – resultat och trender”, was published in 2018 by editors Ulf Fredriksson (Stockholm University), Karl Göran Karlsson (Mid Sweden University), and Astrid Pettersson (Stockholm University). It analyzed Swedish results from 2000 to 2015.
Shortly after its release, editor Xinglong Du—an alumnus of International and Comparative Education at Stockholm University—initiated the translation project alongside Chinese colleagues, driven by China's keen interest in Swedish educational trends.
