Two new DSV professors will be inaugurated
Aron Henriksson and Airi Lampinen, both researchers and lecturers at DSV, were promoted to professors during the academic year 2025–2026. On 25 September 2026, they are invited to attend a ceremony at Stockholm City Hall.

On the last Friday of September each year, Stockholm University holds an inauguration and conferment ceremony at Stockholm City Hall. This year, 44 new professors who have been appointed or promoted during the period 1 July 2025–30 June 2026 will be inaugurated.
Among them are DSV’s Aron Henriksson and Airi Lampinen.
Aron Henriksson is professor of Computer and Systems Sciences with a specialisation in language technology. He completed his doctorate in 2015, and his thesis examined distributional semantics – a forerunner of today’s large language models. Aron’s research interests have developed along the advances in language technology and AI. Today, his work focuses on challenges associated with large language models, including privacy, trustworthiness, explainability and resource-efficient use.
Airi Lampinen is professor of Computer and Systems Sciences with a specialisation in human–computer interaction. She completed her doctorate in 2014, and her thesis examined how young adults interact and maintain social relationships on social media. Airi’s research has since focused on the shared use of digital technologies, including sharing platforms and intimate health technology. She has also conducted research on ethics at the intersection of humans and autonomous systems.
Once the professors have been installed, the doctoral candidates who successfully defended their theses during the last academic year will be conferred. DSV had eight new PhDs in 2025–2026: Elias Seid, Clàudia Figueras Julián, Thomas Vakili, Upeksha Hettithanthri, Thilini De Silva, Patricia Ciobanu, Shubham Vaishnav and Evrim Oya Güner.
Honorary doctorates and jubilee doctorates will also be conferred, and the university’s gold medal and teaching prize will be awarded.
