Nicole Pamme awarded the SKR Chemical Engineering Prize 2025

Professor Nicole Pamme at the Department of Chemistry, Stockholm University, has been awarded the 2025 Chemical Engineering Prize by the Swedish National Association of Chemical Engineers (SKR). She receives the award in recognition of her outstanding research in microfluidics, lab-on-a-chip technology and point-of-care diagnostics, as well as her efforts to highlight the potential of chemistry and inspire the next generation of researchers and engineers.

Nicole Pamme is internationally recognised for her work in analytical chemistry. Her research focuses on the development of microfluidic systems and advanced analytical methods for applications including point-of-care diagnostics, environmental analysis, and the production of smart materials.

"It's wonderful. I had no idea I had been nominated, so receiving the award came as a complete surprise. I feel deeply honoured," Nicole said in an interview with the Swedish Chemical Society.

Nicole is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and has been named one of the world's most influential researchers in analytical chemistry in The Analytical Scientist Power List. In 2020, she received the Newton Country Award for her work on diagnostic methods to improve maternal healthcare in Kenya.

The SKR Chemical Engineering Award is presented annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of chemical engineering. The 2026 award will be presented on 27 August at a ceremony held in conjunction with a meeting at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) in Stockholm.
