Annual Report of the Centre for Canadian Studies (2024)
This document summarizes the activities of the Centre for Canadian Studies for the year 2024. The Centre is administered by a board of five members who meet three times a year.

Activities of the Centre
The Centre has been part of a collaboration between NILAS (Nordic Institute for Latin-American Studies, Stockholm University) and SINAS (Swedish Institute for North-American Studies, Uppsala University) that began in 2023. The goal of this collaboration is to organize joint activities, including conferences, workshops, and publications. A joint workshop for PhD students will be held on 20-21 March 2024 at Uppsala University.
The Centre participated in the Summit of Canadian Studies, held on 10-14 June 2024, and hosted by the International Council of Canadian Studies in collaboration with the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies of York university. Additionally, cooperation has been initiated with the Canadian Studies Network (CSN).
The Centre also contributed to disseminating research outcomes through the publication of four articles in The Conversation:

Awards
The article « Penser une ontologie décoloniale à partir du Manifeste Assi de Natasha Kanapé Fontaine » (British Journal of Canadian Studies, 189-208) – https://doi.org/10.3828/bjcs.2023.11 – was awarded “Best 2023 Article” by the British Journal of Canadian Studies.
Christophe Premat (Centre for Canadian Studies, Stockholm University) received a Certificate of Merit from the International Council of Canadian Studies.
Summer Course 2024
In its fourth edition, the summer course had slightly less interest compared to the previous year, with 43 students enrolled and 16 completing their final credits. This year, Jonathan Rope and Eva Rein (Tartu University) and Rūta Šlapkauskaitė (Vilnius University) led specific seminars.
Two seminars were delivered as open lectures:

"Eco-Memory and the Anthropocene Imagination" - Open lecture by Rūta Šlapkauskaitė
In December 2023, the book Nordic and Baltic Perspectives in Canadian Studies was published in Open Access and is now part of the course literature for the summer course. For the next edition, the course literature will be updated, and lectures will include contributions from scholars in political science and environmental studies. Both open lectures in 2024 were based on published chapters:
